The cycle/pedestrian walkway in question is composed of a single span with a span of 70 meters with the typical conformation of the lowered and tapered arch; in fact, in correspondence with the support piers the building has an overall width of 6.70 meters while in the center of 3.50 m.

The main load-bearing profiles are made of 800 mm diameter, 20 mm thick circular tube in S355J2 quality carbon steel, welded together on site to form the lowered arch. 100% of the welds made on site, approximately 380 ml in total, were tested on site using ultrasonic checks.

The secondary crosspieces, installed at a constant pitch of 3 m, are made of a composite beam with an upper flange made of 150 mm plate, 15 mm thick, a lower flange made of 100 mm plate, 10 mm thick, and a central core of variable height, 10 mm thick. The floor bracings, installed for each span, are made up of crossed circular tubes with a diameter of Ø88.9 mm and a thickness of 5 mm.

Given the complexity of the structure, it was necessary to carry out the pre-assembly of the entire product, 100% of the welds carried out in the workshop were finally tested with magnetoscopic checks.

All metal structures are treated with a hot dip galvanizing cycle compliant with UNI EN ISO1461:2009 regulations and final liquid painting, after suitable surface treatment.

The work is completed by the structural surface in corrugated galvanized sheet metal, the pedestrian walking surface in biocompatible natural fiber composite wood and the metal parapets in brushed AISI304 stainless steel.
