The supply in question involved the construction of the new metal carpentry covering for the grandstand of the new Albinoleffe Stadium, the first owned stadium in Italy for a team playing in Serie C, a facility that hosts approximately 1,700 seats.
The architectural concept was developed by the Batlleiroig architecture studio, already the author of the “Johan Cruijff” stadium owned by Barcelona Football Club.
The structure is made of S275J0 quality carbon steel and consists of 25 m long and 6 m high lattice beams for a total weight of approximately 150,000 kg. The elements in question were pre-assembled on site by bolting all the profiles in order to guarantee their painting and transport and thus avoiding the execution of any welding on site.
The challenge of the entire project was precisely the engineering of the reticular structural element, redesigned and optimized in order to guarantee a feasible realization in the workshop and subsequent installation on site.
The supply is completed by the installation of 6 metal carpentry staircases with steps and landings in prefabricated reinforced concrete slabs, all the metal parapets of the system were also made, the latter sized for a thrust of 300 kg/ml.
All the metal carpentry was treated with a powder coating cycle for exposure class C2 “external”, consisting of sandblasting and subsequent powder coating of the artifacts.
